DAAK Logistic

Legal

Prohibited items

Some goods cannot be carried through the DAAK network, either because the law restricts them or because they are unsafe to handle alongside general freight. This list is a summary, not a complete legal schedule.

Never accepted

We do not accept the following under any service:

  • Narcotics, psychotropic substances and illegal drugs
  • Explosives, fireworks, ammunition and weapons
  • Live animals, unless a specialist service has been agreed in writing
  • Currency, negotiable instruments and bearer bonds
  • Counterfeit goods and material that infringes intellectual property
  • Human remains, organs and other items restricted by law
  • Obscene or illegal material

Restricted without prior approval

The following may be accepted only with written approval, correct documentation and packaging that meets the applicable rules:

  • Lithium batteries and battery-powered devices
  • Flammable, corrosive or oxidising chemicals
  • Pharmaceuticals, samples and temperature-sensitive medical goods
  • Alcohol and tobacco products
  • Precious metals, jewellery and high-value electronics
  • Goods requiring import or export licences

Customer responsibility

The shipper is responsible for declaring the contents accurately and for holding every licence, permit and safety document the goods require. A parcel may be opened, held or returned if we believe it contains a prohibited item.

Consequences

If a prohibited item is found, we may stop the shipment, hand it to the authorities where required, and recover any resulting cost from the shipper. Repeated breaches may end the service relationship.

Ask first

If you are unsure whether a product can travel, ask the operations desk before booking. It is always cheaper than discovering the problem at a hub.
